Judicial Assistant Written Exam Pattern

The Stage-I OMR-based written examination is of 120 marks and runs for 2 hours. It is an objective-type paper testing candidates across multiple subjects. The Assamese Language segment (20 marks) is qualifying in nature and its marks will not be added to the merit list.

Selection Process

Stage-I – Written Examination (120 Marks): OMR-based objective exam held on 31 May 2026. Candidates must qualify the Assamese Language segment with minimum 40% (8/20). Candidates equal to 3 times the vacancies (1:3 ratio) are shortlisted for Stage-II.

Stage-II – Interview / Viva-Voce (20 Marks): Shortlisted candidates from Stage-I appear for an interview. A candidate must secure at least 60% (12 out of 20) to be considered qualified.

Final Selection: Based on combined marks of the Written Exam + Interview. In case of a tie, the candidate with higher written exam marks gets preference. If still tied, the senior candidate by age is preferred.

Note: The Assamese Language segment marks (20 marks) are qualifying only and will not be counted while preparing the merit list for Stage-I.
