The North East Regional Institute of Education (NERIE), Umiam, Meghalaya — a premier institute of NCERT — has released the official notification for the Common Entrance Examination (CEE) 2026 for admission into its 2-year regular B.Ed. Course for the academic session 2026–2027. NERIE is affiliated to North-Eastern Hill University (NEHU), Shillong and is approved by NCTE.
NERIE caters exclusively to students from the 8 North Eastern states — Assam, Arunachal Pradesh, Manipur, Meghalaya, Mizoram, Nagaland, Sikkim, and Tripura. Total seats available: 55 (50 regular + 5 EWS). Online applications are open from 15 May to 5 June 2026 at www.cee.ncert.gov.in.

How to Apply for NERIE B.Ed Admission 2026
Apply online through the official website www.cee.ncert.gov.in. Follow these steps:
Visit the Important Links section below and click Online Application Form to go to the official CEE 2026 portal.
Complete the registration process on the portal.
Log in and fill in all personal, educational, and domicile details carefully in the online application form.
Upload all required documents including marksheets, domicile proof, category certificate (if applicable), passport-sized photo, and signature.
Pay the application fee online as per your category (Debit/Credit Card, UPI, NEFT).
Submit the application and take a printout of the submitted form for future reference.

A total of 55 seats are available — 50 regular seats distributed across 8 NE states plus 5 additional EWS seats. Assam has the highest allocation of 15 seats.
The Common Entrance Examination (CEE) 2026 will be held on 28 June 2026. Admit cards can be downloaded from 20 to 28 June 2026.
Candidates must have at least 50% marks in Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Sciences/Social Sciences/Humanities (55% for B.Tech with Science & Maths). A 5% relaxation applies for SC/ST/PwD. Candidates must also be from one of the 8 NE states.
CEE 2026 is an offline MCQ exam of 2 hours with 80 questions across three sections: Language Proficiency in English (20 Qs), Teaching Aptitude (30 Qs), and Reasoning Ability (30 Qs).
UR/OBC: ₹1,400/- | SC/ST/EWS/PwD: ₹800/-. Fee payable online via Debit/Credit Card, UPI, or NEFT. Fee is non-refundable.
Only candidates from the 8 North Eastern states are eligible: Assam, Arunachal Pradesh, Manipur, Meghalaya, Mizoram, Nagaland, Sikkim, and Tripura.
The CEE 2026 exam centres in Assam are Guwahati and Jorhat.
