SBI PO Recruitment 2026 – Overview

The State Bank of India (SBI), India’s largest public sector bank, has released an official recruitment notification for 1500 Probationary Officer (PO) vacancies across its branches nationwide. Online applications can be submitted from 18 June 2026 to 8 July 2026 via the official IBPS web portal.

Selected candidates will be appointed as Probationary Officers with a starting basic pay of ₹48,480/- per month (with four advance increments) and an approximate annual CTC of ₹21.97 Lakh at Mumbai centre. In addition, SBI POs receive DA, HRA, CCA, PF, NPS, Medical Benefits, Leave Fare Concession, Lease Rental Facility, and other allowances as per bank rules.

Educational Qualification

•Graduation degree in any discipline from a recognised University or an equivalent qualification recognised by the Central Government as of 30 September 2026.

•Final year/semester students may apply provisionally and must submit graduation proof on or before 30 September 2026 if called for interview.

SBI PO Selection Process 2026

1Phase I – Preliminary Examination (Online): 100 Questions, 100 Marks, 1 Hour. Category-wise merit list; approx. 10x vacancies shortlisted for Mains.

2Phase II – Main Examination (Online): Objective Test (200 Marks) + Descriptive Test (30 Marks). Total duration: 3 hours 30 minutes.

3Phase III – Psychometric Test, Group Exercise & Interview: Group Exercise (20 Marks) + Personal Interview (30 Marks) = 50 Marks total.

📌 Final Merit: Main Exam contributes 75% and Phase III contributes 25% to the final score. Prelims marks are NOT counted in the final selection. Negative marking: 1/4th mark deducted per wrong answer in Objective Tests.
