The Assam D.El.Ed. Admission 2026 official notification has been released by SCERT, Assam for the 2-year Diploma in Elementary Education course (session 2026-28). Eligible permanent residents of Assam who have passed Class 12 (HS) with at least 50% marks (45% for SC/ST) can apply online at scertpet.co.in from 21 May 2026 to 10 June 2026. The State Council of Educational Research and Training (SCERT), Assam has released the official notification for Assam D.El.Ed. Admission 2026. Online applications are invited from eligible permanent residents of Assam for the Pre-Entry Test (PET) 2026 for admission into the 2-year Diploma in Elementary Education (D.El.Ed.) course for academic session 2026–2028.
The course is offered at NCTE-recognized Teacher Education Institutes (TEIs) including DIETs, CTEs, Normal Schools, BITEs, BTCs, and approved private institutes across Assam. Admission is based on district-wise merit from PET scores, with 30% seats reserved for Science stream and 70% for Arts and other streams in each district.

Seats are reserved for OBC/MOBC, SC, ST(P), ST(H), PWD, and EWS as per Government of Assam Reservation Policy. PWD candidates must have a benchmark disability of not less than 40% under VI, HI, or OH categories.

Pre-Entry Test (PET) 2026 – Exam Pattern
The PET is a single OMR-based paper of 100 marks divided into two sections. Each correct answer: +1 mark. Each wrong answer: –0.25 mark.
Selection Process
Pre-Entry Test (PET): OMR-based exam on 12 July 2026. District-wise merit lists are prepared separately for Science stream (30% seats) and Arts/other streams (70% seats).
Result Declaration: SCERT publishes district-wise merit lists on 27 July 2026.
Online Counselling: Shortlisted candidates choose preferred TEIs. Allotment is based on PET score, category, district, and seat availability in the chosen institute.
How to Apply for Assam D.El.Ed. Admission 2026
Apply online only through the official portal scertpet.co.in. Offline applications are not accepted. Keep all documents ready in scanned form before starting.
Visit the official portal at scertpet.co.in and click New Registration. Register with a valid mobile number and email ID.
Log in with your Application ID/Registration ID and fill in personal details, educational qualification, and category details correctly.
Select your preferred district for the Pre-Entry Test exam centre.
Upload a recent passport-size colour photograph (JPEG, max 100 KB) and signature (JPEG, max 100 KB).
Upload scanned copies of HSLC admit card/certificate, HS pass certificate & marksheet, caste certificate, and PWD/EWS certificate (if applicable) in PDF format (max 450 KB each).
Pay the application fee of ₹600/- online via Net Banking, Debit Card, Credit Card, or UPI.
Submit the application and download the acknowledgement receipt for future reference.
