Punjab & Sind Bank (PSB), a public sector bank under the Government of India, has released an official notification for the recruitment of 635 Apprentice training seats under the Apprentices Act, 1961. The seats are distributed across 29 States and UTs with 5 seats allocated for Assam.
Unlike most banking exams, no written examination is conducted for PSB Apprentice 2026. Selection is based entirely on 10+2 (HSC) marks prepared in a district-wise and category-wise merit list. Stipend & Training Details
Punjab & Sind Bank Apprentice – Monthly Stipend
₹12,300 / month
Paid for the entire 1-year training period. No daily allowance, conveyance allowance, or travelling allowance of any kind is payable to apprentices.
⚠ This is an apprenticeship — NOT a permanent job. Punjab & Sind Bank has no obligation to offer regular employment after the training period.

Educational Qualification
•Graduate in any discipline from a recognized University or Institute as on 6 June 2026.
Local Language Proficiency
•The apprentice must be proficient in the local language of the State/UT applied for (Reading, Writing, Speaking & Understanding).
•Must produce 8th/10th/12th/Graduate level marksheet showing the local language was studied as a subject.

Selection Process – Based on 10+2 Merit
There is no written examination for Punjab & Sind Bank Apprentice 2026. Selection is based entirely on merit:

Candidates who meet the minimum eligibility criteria will be ranked based on their 10+2 (HSC) marks in descending order within their respective category, state, and district.

Merit List is prepared State-wise, District-wise, and Category-wise. Candidates must furnish their preferred state and district in the application itself.

If two or more candidates score the same 10+2 marks as the cut-off, they will be ranked based on age in descending order (older candidate gets preference) within their category, state, and district.
