SSC CPO Recruitment 2026 – Overview
Staff Selection Commission (SSC) has released the official notification for the Sub-Inspector in Delhi Police and Central Armed Police Forces Examination, 2026. Through this exam, SSC will recruit 1871 Sub-Inspector (SI) posts across Delhi Police and CAPFs including BSF, CISF, CRPF, ITBP and SSB. Eligible candidates can apply online from 10 September 2026 to 30 September 2026.
Selected candidates will be placed in Pay Level-6 (₹35,400 – ₹1,12,400/-). Selection involves Paper-I, a Physical Standard Test / Physical Endurance Test (PST/PET), Paper-II and a Detailed Medical Examination (DME). All stages are mandatory for final selection.

Salary & Pay Scale
Sub-Inspector – Pay Level-6
₹35,400 – ₹1,12,400 / month
Applicable uniformly to SI (Executive) in Delhi Police, SI (GD) in CAPF, and SI (Fire) in CISF. In addition, eligible for DA, HRA and other allowances as per Central Government / CAPF rules.
💰 Estimated CTC: Including DA, HRA and other allowances, the estimated gross monthly emoluments for an SSC CPO Sub-Inspector can range between ₹45,000 – ₹70,000+ per month depending on posting location and force.

Educational Qualification
•SI in Delhi Police / SI (GD) in CAPFs: Bachelor’s degree from a recognized university or equivalent. Candidates who have appeared in their final-year Bachelor’s degree exam can also apply.
SI (FIRE) – EITHER
•Bachelor’s degree in Science with Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics from a recognized university, OR
•Matriculation + 3-year diploma in Mechanical, Civil, Electrical, Automobiles, Chemical, Mining, Aeronautical or Telecommunication Engineering from a recognized Board/Institution.
🚗 Driving License Required: Male candidates applying for SI in Delhi Police must possess a valid Driving License for LMV (Motorcycle and Car).

Parts I–III run in a combined 1-hour slot (sectional timer of 20 minutes per part); Part IV (English Comprehension) has a separate 1-hour duration. Questions in Parts I, II and III of both papers are set in Hindi and English.
⚠ Negative Marking: 0.25 marks deducted per wrong answer in Paper-I; 0.50 marks deducted per wrong answer in Paper-II. All questions are Objective Multiple Choice type.
