Eligibility Criteria of Atmanirbhar Assam Scheme

Residentship: Beneficiaries must be permanent residents of Assam.

Age Limit: The beneficiary’s age should fall within the range of 18 to 45 years.

Educational Qualification: To be eligible for this scheme, beneficiaries must have a minimum qualification of passing Class 10.

Skill Qualification: Applicant should have skills, knowledge, etc. to undertake income generating activities (ITI, Diploma, etc.)

Bank Account: The applicant should have a scheduled commercial bank account opened before 31st December 2023.

Loan Defaults: Beneficiaries must not have a history of loan defaults.

Government Service: Beneficiaries should not come from families with government service holders or pensioners.

Income: Only candidates falling under the BPL category are eligible.

Family: Only one member per family is eligible for this scheme.

Employment Exchange: Beneficiaries must have been registered with the Employment Exchange before 1st April 2023 to be eligible.

Beneficiary Coverage

The Mukhyamantrir Atmanirbharshil Asom Abhiyan initiative aims to target 2 lakh eligible beneficiaries over the next two years. The first phase will focus on assisting 1 lakh individuals during the fiscal year 2023-24, followed by another 1 lakh in the fiscal year 2024-25. Financial Assistance

Financial assistance shall be a combination of Government grant plus interest-free Government loan to be repaid after 5 years to establish micro-enterprise/ service units. The beneficiaries, as per their eligibility will receive 2 lakh/ 3 lakh/ 5 lakh in two installments.

Skill Training

Selected beneficiaries will have to undergo 1-month training in selected educational/ skill training institutions for enhancing entrepreneurship, management and accounting skills. During this period, Rs 10,000 shall be granted as stipend to participating beneficiaries.
