Documentation Verification — carry originals, the fee receipt/challan, and printouts of your application form and the notification.

Computer Based Test (CBT) — 100-mark objective test. Minimum qualifying marks: 35% (General/EWS) and 33% (SC/ST/OBC).

Trade Skill Test — computer-based trade test plus a specific practical skill test. It is qualifying only (no marks awarded); candidates are shortlisted on CBT merit at about 4 times the vacancies (1:4) per trade/category.

A total of 354 posts are notified across 17 trades — 219 Rifleman, 129 Warrant Officer and 6 Havildar. Warrant Officer (Cipher) has the highest vacancies (124), followed by Rifleman (Electrical Fitter Signal) with 32.

The notification states that pay and allowances will be as admissible to Assam Rifles personnel. Indicative 7th CPC levels used in earlier rallies are Level 3 for Rifleman (₹21,700–₹69,100), Level 4 for Havildar (₹25,500–₹81,100) and Level 5 for Warrant Officer (₹29,200–₹92,300), plus allowances. Eligibility is trade-wise. Most Rifleman and Havildar trades need Class 10/Matric with a 2-year ITI or a 2/3-year Diploma in the relevant trade; Store Keeper Technical and Mason need 10th pass; Warrant Officer posts (Cipher, Draughtsman, OT Technician, Physiotherapist) need 10+2 or higher with the prescribed ITI/Diploma/degree, and OT Technician and Physiotherapist also need 1 year of work experience. Only male Indian citizens can apply.

18–23 years for Rifleman and Havildar posts and 18–25 years for all Warrant Officer posts, as on 1 July 2026. Relaxation: OBC 3 years, SC/ST 5 years, and Ex-Servicemen 3/6/8 years (UR/OBC/SC-ST) after deducting military service.

Male candidates need 170 cm (chest 80/85 cm). It is 165 cm (chest 78/83 cm) for Garhwalis, Kumaonis, Dogras, Marathas and candidates from Assam, the other listed North-East states, Himachal Pradesh and the Kashmir, Leh & Ladakh divisions of J&K, and 162.5 cm (chest 76/81 cm) for ST candidates.
