State Bank of India (SBI) has released two official recruitment notifications for 10,662 Junior Associate (Customer Support & Sales) vacancies in the clerical cadre across the country. Of these, 9,124 posts are under the regular/backlog drive, and 1,538 posts are under a special recruitment drive for SC/ST/OBC backlog vacancies.
Candidates can apply for vacancies in only one State/UT and may appear for the test only once under this recruitment project. Applicants must be proficient in the specified local language of the State/UT they apply for. Assam has been notified 246 posts in total (207 regular + 39 special drive), with exams held at Dibrugarh, Guwahati, Jorhat, Silchar and Tezpur.

Selection Process
Selection consists of an online Preliminary Examination, an online Main Examination, and a Local Language Proficiency Test where required. Negative marking of 1/4th mark applies for each wrong answer in both objective tests; there is no minimum qualifying mark per section for Prelims.

Candidates who produce a 10th/12th mark sheet evidencing study of the local language are exempt. Others must qualify this test after provisional selection but before joining, or they will not be offered appointment.
