MHRB Assam Recruitment 2026 – Overview
The Medical and Health Recruitment Board (MHRB), Assam has released two separate employment notifications inviting applications for 560 Medical & Health Officer-I (M&HO-I) posts under the Health & Family Welfare Department and 599 Registrar / Demonstrator / Resident Physician posts under Government Medical College & Hospitals, Medical Education & Research Department, Govt. of Assam.
MBBS graduates and postgraduate doctors (MD/MS/DNB) registered with a recognized medical council can apply online before the respective last dates. This is one of the largest state-level medical recruitment drives in Assam for 2026, offering 1159 vacancies across entry-level Medical Officer roles and specialist Registrar/Demonstrator positions.
✅ No Separate NOC Required: Doctors already serving under DME/DHS/NHM Assam and other Govt. of Assam agencies do not need a separate No Objection Certificate to apply for M&HO-I posts.

Qualification – M&HO-I (560 Posts)
•MBBS Degree from any recognized University under the National Medical Commission / MCI, with mandatory registration under the Assam Medical Council.

Anaesthesiology, Dermatology, ENT, Emergency Medicine, FSM, Medicine, Microbiology, Orthopaedics, Ophthalmology, O&G, Pharmacology, Pathology, Psychiatry, Paediatrics, PM&R, Radiodiagnosis, Radiation Oncology, Surgery, SPM (Community Medicine), TB & Chest (Pulmonary Medicine), Nuclear Medicine.
Pre-clinical Departments (with PhD)
• Anatomy: MS (Anatomy) / MSc (Medical Anatomy) with PhD in Medical Anatomy
• Biochemistry: MD (Biochemistry) / MSc (Medical Biochemistry) with PhD in Medical Biochemistry
• Physiology: MD (Physiology) / MSc (Medical Physiology) with PhD in Medical Physiology
Super Speciality
• Medical Super Speciality (Cardiology, Neurology, Endocrinology, Nephrology, Medical Oncology): MD/DNB in General Medicine
