IIT Kharagpur has released the official notification for IIT JAM 2027 (Joint Admission Test for Masters) for admission into M.Sc., M.S. Research, M.Sc.-Ph.D., and other dual-degree programs across 23 participating IITs. Candidates who have completed or are appearing in the final year of their undergraduate degree are eligible to apply online between September 12, 2026, and October 12, 2026. The 3-hour computer-based exam (CBT) will be conducted on February 14, 2027 (Sunday) across seven test subjects.

IIT JAM Notification 2027 – Overview
The Joint Admission Test for Masters (JAM) is a national-level online entrance test that provides admission to M.Sc., M.Sc. (Tech), M.S. Research, M.Sc.-M.Tech. Dual Degree, Joint M.Sc.-Ph.D., M.Sc.-Ph.D. Dual Degree and Integrated Ph.D. programmes across premier institutes in India, consolidating science as a career option for bright students.
IIT Kharagpur has released the official notification for JAM 2027 and will conduct the computer-based test on 14 February 2027 (Sunday). Candidates aspiring for a career in basic sciences can apply online through the JAM Online Application Processing System (JOAPS) for admission to the 2027–2028 academic session.
✅ No Age Limit! There is no age restriction to apply for JAM 2027, making it open to candidates of any age who meet the educational eligibility criteria.
Eligibility Criteria to Appear in JAM 2027
•Age Limit: No age restriction to apply for JAM 2027.
•Educational Qualification: Candidates who have completed their undergraduate degree, or will be appearing in the final examination of their qualifying degree in 2027, are eligible to appear.
•Physical Fitness: Admitted candidates must submit a Physical Fitness certificate from a registered medical practitioner and may have to undergo a fitness test by the Admitting Institute’s medical board. Admission can be cancelled if found physically unfit for the chosen course.
📌 Candidates must fulfil the specific Eligibility Requirements (ERs) of their target PG programme, which vary by institute and discipline. Refer to the official Information Brochure for programme-wise ERs.

Exam Pattern of IIT JAM 2027
JAM 2027 is offered in 7 test papers – Biotechnology (BT), Chemistry (CY), Economics (EN), Geology (GG), Mathematics (MA), Mathematical Statistics (MS) and Physics (PH). Each paper carries 100 marks across 60 questions, to be completed in 3 hours:
