Online applications for GU B.Ed Admission 2026 through the GUBEDCET 2026 portal will be live from 12 June 2026 to 22 June 2026. Gauhati University will conduct the OMR-based Common Entrance Test on 19 July 2026 for admission into its two-year Bachelor of Education (B.Ed.) programme across affiliated colleges. Graduates and postgraduates with at least 50% aggregate marks (45% for SC/ST/OBC/PWD) are eligible to apply. The exam consists of 100 multiple-choice questions carrying a total of 400 marks with a negative marking of -1 for incorrect answers.

Gauhati University B.Ed Admission 2026 – Overview
Gauhati University conducts the B.Ed. Common Entrance Test (GUBEDCET) every year for admission into the two-year Bachelor of Education (B.Ed.) programme at its affiliated colleges across Assam. Online applications for GUBEDCET 2026 will be live from 12 June 2026 to 22 June 2026, and the entrance test will be held on 19 July 2026.
Admission to all affiliated B.Ed. colleges is done entirely through GUBEDCET — there is no direct admission. Candidates who qualify the entrance exam are ranked in a merit list, and seat allocation is based solely on that rank. The full notification with all details is expected on 12 June 2026.

The entrance exam has 100 questions across 5 sections. All questions are MCQ with 4 options. The test booklet is in English and the OMR sheet must be filled carefully.

How to Apply for GU B.Ed Admission 2026
Register on the Portal — Open the application link (from 12 June 2026) and complete registration using mobile number and email. New users must register before logging in.
Fill the Application Form — Log in and fill personal and educational details. Ensure all entries match your original documents.
Upload Documents — Upload passport-size photograph and signature as per the specifications on the portal.
Select Exam Centres — Choose 3 preferred exam centres. You will be assigned one based on availability.
Pay Application Fee — Pay online using Debit Card, Credit Card, Internet Banking, or UPI. No offline payment accepted.
Submit & Save — Submit the form and download the acknowledgement receipt for future reference (admit card download and counselling).

The GUBEDCET 2026 entrance test will be held on 19 July 2026. Applications open from 12 June 2026 to 22 June 2026.
Candidates must have a BA, BSc, BCom, MA, MSc, MCom or equivalent degree from a recognized university with at least 50% marks. SC, ST, OBC, and PWD candidates need a minimum of 45% marks. Final year students may also apply provisionally.
100 MCQ questions carrying a total of 400 marks. Marking: +4 for correct, –1 for wrong. Exam duration: 2 hours. OMR-based written test.
Based on the 2025 notification, the fee was ₹2,000/- plus bank transaction charges. The 2026 fee will be confirmed in the official notification expected on 12 June 2026. Payment is online only.
The merit list is based solely on GUBEDCET marks. Ties are resolved by: (1) ratio of positive to negative marks, (2) fewer unanswered questions, and (3) the older candidate gets priority.
Minimum 80 marks for Unreserved (UR) candidates and minimum 60 marks for Reserved category candidates are required to qualify GUBEDCET 2026.
