Eligibility Criteria for Gauhati University PG Admission

Candidates must be a Graduate with minimum of 24 Credits in respective subject with Major / Honours or with Regular Course. For Specific Eligibility Criteria for Interdisciplinary programmes, candidates may check this link, here .

Besides this above, it is to be noted that-

(i) Candidates who appeared/appearing in the 6th Semester B.A./B.Sc./B.Com/B.Voc Examinations, 2024 and are waiting for their results are eligible to appear in the PGET-2024 and get provisional admission if selected. However, the candidates must submit the Final Gradesheet /Marksheet within 7 days of the result being declared. Failure to do so will result in the withdrawal of their seat.

(ii) Candidates appeared/appearing in the 6th Semester B.A./B.Sc./B.Com/B.Voc Examinations, 2024 and waiting for their results but have backlog in earlier Semester(s) are also eligible to appear in the PGET-2024 and get provisional admission if selected. However, the candidates must have to submit the Final Gradesheet /Marksheet within 7 days of the result being declared. Failure to do so will result in the withdrawal of their seat.

Application Fee of Gauhati University PG Admission 2024

If an applicant applies for one PG Programme, the application fee will be ₹ 1000/-; for two Programmes, the application fee will be ₹ 1500/-; and for three PG Programmes, the application fee will be ₹ 2000/-.

Application fees can only be paid online (by debit card, credit card, or internet banking). The link to the payment gateway will be provided in the online application portal.

Schedule of GU PG Entrance Test 2024

There will be an Entrance Test for admission into different Post Graduate Courses to be conducted by Gauhati University (both for the University Departments and the Affiliated Colleges of the University) for the session 2024-2025. Admissions will be based strictly on the performance and eligibility criteria of the Entrance Examination.

Negative Marking: For each wrong answer, a 0.25 mark will be deducted.

GU PG Entrance Test Admit Card 2024

A student can opt for appearing in the entrance examination for a maximum of three subjects (one traditional and two interdisciplinary). However, applicants should refer to the overlap of examination dates for two subjects, if any, where they would like to appear in through PGET, so that both the subjects do not overlap in the same session.

GU PG Entrance Test Admit Card

Students who submit applications for the Gauhati University Post Graduate Entrance Test 2024 must download their admit card from the official portal to participate in the exam. The admit card is a mandatory document for participation in GUPGET-2024, and without it, no student will be allowed inside the examination hall. According to the official notification, Gauhati University will release the admit cards on 4th July 2024.
