Educational Qualification & Experience
Candidates must possess the required qualification (and experience, where applicable) by 21 September 2026. The qualifying exam result must also be declared by that date.
Office Assistant: Bachelor’s degree in any discipline. Local-language proficiency required; computer knowledge desirable. No experience required.
Officer Scale I: Bachelor’s degree in any discipline (subject preferences apply). Local-language proficiency required; computer knowledge desirable. No experience required.
Officer Scale II, General Banking Officer: Bachelor’s degree with min. 50% marks + 2 years experience as an officer in a bank/financial institution.
Officer Scale II, IT: Bachelor’s degree in Electronics/Communication/CS/IT or equivalent, min. 50% marks + 1 year relevant experience.
Officer Scale II, Chartered Accountant: CA (Associate, ICAI) with 1 year of experience as a Chartered Accountant.
Officer Scale II, Law Officer: Law degree, min. 50% marks + 2 years as advocate or Law Officer in a bank/financial institution.
Officer Scale II, Treasury Manager: CA or MBA (Finance) + 1 year relevant experience.
Officer Scale II, Marketing Officer: MBA (Marketing) + 1 year relevant experience.
Officer Scale II, Agricultural Officer: Bachelor’s degree in prescribed agriculture/allied discipline, min. 50% marks + 2 years relevant experience.
Officer Scale III: Bachelor’s degree, min. 50% marks + at least 5 years experience as an officer in a bank/financial institution.

Local Language Requirement for Assam
For Assam Gramin Bank, the prescribed local languages are Assamese, Bengali, and Bodo. Local-language proficiency is essential for Office Assistant and Officer Scale I.
✅ A candidate who studied the applicable language in Class VIII or higher at a recognised school/board is treated as proficient. A selected candidate who doesn’t meet this may get 6 months from joining to acquire proficiency, subject to the RRB’s rules.

Selection Process
The process differs by post. Office Assistant and Officer Scale I go through a Preliminary + Main Examination, while Officer Scale II and III appear for a Single Online Examination.
Office Assistant
Preliminary Exam (screening only) → Main Exam (final merit) → No Interview. Provisional allotment is based on Main Exam marks, State/UT vacancies, and reservation rules.
Officer Scale I
Preliminary Exam (screening) → Main Exam → Interview (up to 3x vacancies called) → Final Merit: Main + Interview combined in 80:20 ratio.
Officer Scale II & III
Single Online Exam (no Prelims) → Interview (up to 3x vacancies called) → Final Merit: Exam + Interview combined in 80:20 ratio.
⚠ Interview Marks: Carries 100 marks for Officer Scale I/II/III. Minimum qualifying score is 40% for General/EWS and 35% for SC/ST/OBC/PwBD candidates.

How to Apply for IBPS RRB Recruitment 2026
A candidate may apply for Office Assistant and one Officer post – but separate applications and fees are required. Only one among Officer Scale I, II, or III can be selected.

Note the provisional registration number and password, then complete the form, selecting the correct post and State/UT.

Upload photograph, signature, left thumb impression, handwritten declaration and other documents in specified formats. Double-check all entries – post, name, email, mobile, nationality and State/UT cannot be edited later.

Pay the fee online and confirm the e-receipt is generated. Save and print the application and e-receipt – do not send the printout to IBPS or an RRB.
