Eligible Indian citizens can apply online by downloading the form and emailing it to the official selection authority before the closing deadline on 28 June 2026. Training categories include technical and vocational fields like AI-Machine Learning, CNC machining, AutoCAD, Floriculture, and Welding. All programs are completely free of cost, except for the Animal Attendant course which requires a ₹5,000 admission fee.

CSIR NEIST Skill Development Training 2026 – Overview

CSIR-North East Institute of Science and Technology (NEIST), Jorhat — a constituent establishment of the Council of Scientific and Industrial Research (CSIR), New Delhi — is the only R&D laboratory of CSIR operating in the North Eastern Region. Under the national “CSIR-Integrated Skill Initiative”, CSIR-NEIST is organizing a Skill Development Training Programme 2026 offering 390 free seats across Basic and Advanced trade courses.

Applications are invited from eligible citizens of India. Successful candidates will be certified under the NSDC-CSIR Integrated Skill Initiative scheme — a recognized national skilling credential that improves employability and self-employment prospects.

💡 Almost All Free: 16 out of 17 trades are completely free of cost. Only the Laboratory Animal Attendant course has a fee of ₹5,000/-, charged at the time of admission.

ℹ AI-ML Course: The AI & Machine Learning advanced course (50 seats — the largest single batch) will be conducted entirely in online mode, ideal for graduates in Science or Engineering anywhere in India.

Eligibility Criteria

Age Limit

Maximum age limit is 38 years, with relaxation as per Government norms for reserved categories.

Educational Qualification – Basic Training

•Welding, Fitting, Plumbing, Assistant Electrician: Minimum Class 10th passed.

•2D & 3D AutoCAD Drafting: Minimum Class 10th / ITI / Diploma / Degree passed.

•Jacquard Weaving: Open category; women candidates preferred.

•Plant Tissue Culture Technician: 10+2 (Science preferred); nursery work experience preferred.

•Animal Attendant: 10+2 (Science preferred) / ITI.

•All other courses (Beekeeper, Mushroom Grower, Flower Handler, Floriculturist, LED Bulb Tech.): Minimum Class 8th passed.

Educational Qualification – Advanced Training

•CNC Turning & Machining: ITI passed as Machinist/Turner, or Diploma in Mechanical/allied subject.

•Advanced Welding: ITI passed in Welding, or Diploma in Mechanical/allied subject.

•AI-Machine Learning: Bachelor’s degree in any Science or Engineering discipline. (Online mode)

•Field Technician – Networking & Storage: BCA, B.Sc (IT), B.Sc (Computer Science), or Diploma in Computer/IT/Electronics/Electrical/Electronics & Communication/Instrumentation.

✓Selection is based on percentage of marks obtained in the respective qualifying examination, OR through a screening test if the number of applicants is high.
