The Gauhati High Court JAA Result 2026 (Merit List) was officially declared on 19 June 2026. The Common Written Test was held on 1 February 2026.

Candidates must score a minimum of 40% (i.e., 8 marks out of 20) in Part B (Assamese language test) to qualify. However, Part B marks are NOT counted for merit list preparation. The merit list is based solely on Part A marks (100 marks).

The merit list is prepared based on marks obtained in Part A (100 marks) only. Only candidates who qualify Part B with a minimum of 40% marks AND secure sufficient marks in Part A are included in the district-wise and category-wise merit list.

Details of further selection stages, including whether there will be an interview or any other stage after the written test, will be clarified in subsequent announcements by the Gauhati High Court to shortlisted candidates.

South Salmara Mankachar has the highest number of JAA vacancies with 26 posts, followed by Charaideo (25 posts) and Kamrup (Metro) (22 posts), out of the total 367 vacancies across Assam districts.
