Assam Veterinary Recruitment 2026 – Overview
Animal Husbandry and Veterinary Department, Assam has released an official recruitment notification for 200 Veterinary Field Assistant (VFA) and allied cadre posts under the Directorate of A.H. & Vety, Deptt. Assam, Guwahati-3. Candidates having HSSLC (Science) passed with Biology subject can apply online from 3 September 2026 to 23 September 2026.
Selected candidates will be placed in the Pay Band of ₹14,000 – ₹70,000 plus Grade Pay of ₹6,200, along with other allowances as admissible. Selection is through an OMR-based written examination followed by one year of mandatory training before appointment.

Eligibility Criteria
Citizenship & Domicile
•Must be an Indian Citizen (Article 5 to 8 of the Constitution) and a permanent resident of Assam. A valid Permanent Resident Certificate (PRC) issued in Assam for educational purposes must be uploaded as proof of domicile.
Educational Qualification
•Must have passed HSSLC (Science) with Biology as a subject from any recognized Board/Council/University.

⚠ Biology carries 40/100 marks – the single highest-weighted subject. Strong preparation in Biology, followed by Chemistry, Physics and General Awareness, is essential to clear the OMR exam.
✅ 1-Year Mandatory Training: Selected candidates must complete one year of training in Elementary Knowledge of Animal Husbandry & Veterinary Science at the School of Veterinary Science and Animal Husbandry, Ghungoor, Silchar (or its extended campuses) before final appointment.
