The Common University Entrance Test [CUET (UG) – 2024] is an all-India test conducted by National Testing Agency (NTA) for admission to various Undergraduate Programmes in Central Universities under Ministry of Education, and other participating Universities / Institutions / Organizations / Autonomous Colleges.
The Common University Entrance Test (CUET) will provide a common platform and equal opportunities to candidates across the country, especially those from rural and other remote areas and help establish better connect with the Universities. A single Examination will enable the Candidates to cover a wide outreach and be part of the admissions process to various Central Universities.
For the Academic Session 2024-2025, CUET (UG) – 2024 will be conducted on 15th May 2024 onwards. This article helps all aspirants to know all details of CUET.
Age Limit: For appearing in the CUET (UG) – 2024, there is no age limit for the candidates.
Educational Qualification: The candidates who have passed the class 12 /equivalent examination or are appearing in 2024 irrespective of their age can appear in CUET (UG) – 2024 examination. However, the candidates will be required to fulfill the age criteria (if any) of the University / Institution / Organization in which they are desirous of taking admission.
CUET UG Exam Fee
The candidates willing to participate in the CUET UG Exam conducted by the NTA must pay examination fees according to their category to complete the online application process. The category-wise details of the applicable fees are outlined in the following table.

Payment Method: Candidates can pay their application fee through an online payment gateway. Candidates should have any of the following options to make the payment – Debit Card, Credit Card, Net Banking or UPI.
How to Apply for CUET UG Exam?
The candidates who are eligible and willing to participate in the Common University Entrance Test (CUET) UG must submit their online applications through the official web portal of NTA. It’s important to note that only applications submitted through the official web portal will be accepted, and submissions through other modes or mediums will be considered invalid. To complete the online application process, you may follow the steps outlined below.

➥ Upload your passport sized photograph and signature and other required documents.
➥ Pay the application fee as per your category and at the end click on submit button.

Important Dates of CUET UG Exam 2024
Starting date for submission of online application
Total subjects: 61 (33 languages, 27 domain-specific, and 01 General Test)
Choice of Test Paper: Maximum 06 Test papers (04 or 05 domain subjects including General Test and 01 or 02 languages). Candidates may choose a maximum 06 Subjects including languages (Indian and Foreign) and General Test
Note: It is advisable for candidates to select at least one language.
Medium of the Test: 13 languages (Assamese, Bengali, English, Gujarati, Hindi, Kannada, Malayalam, Marathi, Punjabi, Odia, Tamil, Telugu, and Urdu)
Total Questions: 40 out of 50 questions for all test papers and 50 out of 60 for the General Test (choice of 10 questions). Duration for all test papers would be 45 minutes except for Mathematics/Applied Mathematics, Accountancy, Physics, Chemistry, Economics, Computer Science/Informatics Practices, and General Tests which would be 60 minutes.
Language: Language to be tested through Reading Comprehension (based on different types of passages–Factual, Literary and Narrative, and Literary Aptitude and Vocabulary.
Domain Subject: As given on NTA website https://cuet.samarth.ac.in .
General Test: General Knowledge, Current Affairs, General Mental Ability, Numerical Ability, Quantitative Reasoning (Simple application of basic mathematical concepts Arithmetic / Algebra / Geometry / Mensuration / Statistics), Logical and Analytical Reasoning.
