The National Testing Agency (NTA) has opened online applications for the Joint CSIR UGC NET December 2026 from October 7 to November 5, 2026. Candidates holding a Master’s degree with at least 55% marks (50% for reserved categories) and aged up to 30 years for JRF can apply at csirnet.nta.nic.in. The Computer Based Test (CBT) will be conducted on December 19, 22, and 27, 2026.

CSIR UGC NET December 2026 – Overview
The National Testing Agency (NTA) has released the official notification for the Joint CSIR-UGC NET December 2026. The Joint CSIR-UGC Fellowship is a prestigious programme that awards the Junior Research Fellowship (JRF) and lectureship eligibility in India. Eligible candidates can apply online from 7 October 2026 to 5 November 2026.
The test checks the eligibility of Indian nationals for three outcomes in Indian universities, colleges and R&D establishments:

The online application for CSIR UGC NET December 2026 started on 7 October 2026.
The last date is 5 November 2026. The correction window will be open from 10 to 12 November 2026.
The exam will be held on 19th, 22nd and 27th December 2026 in Computer Based Test (CBT) mode.
A Master’s degree with at least 55% marks (General/EWS) or 50% (OBC-NCL/SC/ST/PwD/Third gender). Final-year students can apply provisionally.
Maximum 30 years for JRF, with up to 5 years relaxation for OBC-NCL/SC/ST/PwD/Third gender and women. There is no upper age limit for Assistant Professor and Ph.D. admission.
General: ₹1,150; General-EWS/OBC-NCL: ₹600; SC/ST, Third gender and PwD: ₹325.
₹37,000 per month for the first two years plus a ₹20,000 annual contingent grant. It rises to ₹42,000 per month as SRF from the 3rd year.
