CSIR Recruitment 2026 – Overview
The Council of Scientific & Industrial Research (CSIR) has released the official notification for 43 Technician (1) posts on a direct recruitment basis. Candidates with 10th standard/SSC with Science subjects and ITI in a relevant trade may apply online latest by 17 September 2026.
Selected candidates will be placed in Group-C, Pay Matrix Level-2 of ₹19,900 – ₹63,200/-. The posts span 10 different ITI trades, including Computer Operator, Desktop Publishing Operator, Draughtsman, Instrument Mechanic and more.

Selection Process
Applications received will be screened to shortlist candidates for a Computer Proficiency Test (CPT), tentatively in the ratio of 1:5 against the total vacancies in each category (subject to a minimum of 5). Qualifying in the CPT is mandatory for further consideration.
✅ Final Selection: Based on the shortlisting criteria specified in the official notification, subject to qualifying the minimum threshold marks in the CPT conducted by CSIR. Refer to the official advertisement for full details of the shortlisting and merit criteria.
