Assam CAT 2026 (Assam Common Admission Test) online applications for the LLB (3-Year) Programme are open from 23rd June 2026 to 15th July 2026. Managed by Gauhati University, this mandatory entrance test provides admission into both government and private affiliated law colleges throughout Assam, excluding Dibrugarh University. Graduates with at least 45% marks (42% for OBC/MOBC and 40% for SC/ST) are eligible to register online via the Samarth portal. The offline OMR-based entrance exam is scheduled for 25th July 2026 with an application fee of ₹1,500.

The Assam Common Admission Test (CAT) 2026 is a state-level entrance examination conducted by Gauhati University for admission to the 3-Year LLB Programme in Government and Private Law Colleges affiliated to Gauhati University and other Universities of Assam (excluding Dibrugarh University). Appearing in Assam CAT is mandatory for all applicants — no candidate will be considered for admission without having applied for and appeared in this test.

Candidates must select any three preferred centres while filling the application form. Centres are allotted based on preference and availability.
How to Apply for Assam CAT 2026
Click “Online Application Form” in the Important Links section to open the Assam CAT portal. Click “New User? Register Here” to create your account.
Log in and click “Online Application Form” again to open the actual form.
Fill in all personal and educational details. Upload photograph, signature, and documents. Choose your 3 preferred exam centres.
Pay the application fee of ₹1,500/- online and submit the form.
Take a printout of the submitted application form for your records.

Assam CAT (Common Admission Test) 2026 is a state-level law entrance test conducted by Gauhati University for admission to the 3-Year LLB Programme in all Government and Private Law Colleges affiliated to Gauhati University and other Assam Universities (except Dibrugarh University).
The last date for online application is 15 July 2026. Applications opened on 23 June 2026.
Assam CAT 2026 is scheduled for 25 July 2026 from 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM across 15 examination centres in Assam. Admit cards will be available from 19 July 2026.
The exam has 100 MCQ questions totalling 400 marks in 4 sections: General English (100), General Knowledge (120), Basic Mathematics/Aptitude/Reasoning (80), and Legal Reasoning/Indian Education (100). Duration is 2 hours. Each correct answer carries +4 marks and −1 for wrong answers.
Graduates in any discipline from a recognized University are eligible. Minimum percentage: 45% for UR/EWS, 42% for OBC/MOBC, and 40% for SC/ST(P)/ST(H) categories.
