UPSC NDA & NA (II) 2026 – Overview

Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) has released the official employment notification for the National Defence Academy & Naval Academy Examination (II), 2026. UPSC NDA NA II 2026 invites applications for 394 vacancies across Army, Navy, and Air Force wings of the NDA for the 158th Course and for the 120th Indian Naval Academy Course (INAC), commencing from 1 July 2027.

Eligible unmarried male and female candidates born between 01 January 2008 and 01 January 2011 who have passed or are appearing in Class 12 can apply online at upsc.gov.in from 20 May to 9 June 2026. The written examination will be held on 13 September 2026.

💡 Also Eligible: Candidates who are currently appearing in Class 12 under the 10+2 pattern of School Education or equivalent examination can also apply for NDA & NA (II) 2026.

Eligibility Criteria for UPSC NDA & NA (II) 2026

Educational Qualification

✓Army Wing of NDA: 12th Class pass (10+2 pattern) from a recognized State/Central Board or University, or equivalent examination.

✓Air Force & Naval Wings of NDA / INAC (10+2 Cadet Entry): 12th Class pass with Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics (PCM) from a recognized Board or University or equivalent.

✓Appearing Candidates: Students currently appearing in Class 12 (10+2 or equivalent) are also eligible to apply.

Age Limit

Only unmarried male and female candidates born not earlier than 01 January 2008 and not later than 01 January 2011 are eligible (Age: 16.5 to 19.5 years).

NDA & NA (II) 2026 – Scheme of Examination & Syllabus

The NDA written examination consists of two papers totalling 900 marks, followed by an SSB Interview of 900 marks, bringing the grand total to 1800 marks.
