IOCL Apprentice Recruitment 2026 – Overview
Indian Oil Corporation Limited (IOCL) has released three separate employment notifications for the recruitment of 372 Technician and Trade Apprentice posts at Bongaigaon Refinery, Guwahati Refinery and Digboi Refinery, under the Apprentices Act, 1961/1973 (as amended). Eligible candidates holding a Bachelor’s degree, Diploma, ITI certificate or Class XII pass certificate can apply online.
This is a golden opportunity for candidates in Assam to gain hands-on apprenticeship training at one of India’s largest public sector petroleum refining companies. Selected apprentices will receive a monthly stipend as prescribed under the Apprentices Act/Rules and IOCL guidelines, along with valuable industry exposure.

Eligibility Criteria (Trade-wise Qualification)
Trade Apprentice – Attendant Operator (Chemical Plant): 3-year B.Sc (Maths, Physics, Chemistry or Industrial Chemistry).
Trade Apprentice (Boiler): 3-year B.Sc (Maths, Physics, Chemistry or Industrial Chemistry).
Trade Apprentice (Fitter): Matric with ITI in Fitter Trade of minimum 2 years’ duration, Pass class.
Technician Apprentice – Chemical: 3-year Diploma in Chemical/Petrochemical Engg./Chemical Technology/Refinery & Petrochemical Engg.
Technician Apprentice – Mechanical: 3-year Diploma in Mechanical Engineering.
Technician Apprentice – Instrumentation: 3-year Diploma in Instrumentation Engg./Instrumentation & Electronics/Instrumentation & Control Engg./Applied Electronics & Instrumentation Engg.
Technician Apprentice – Electrical: 3-year Diploma in Electrical Engg. or Electrical & Electronics Engg.
Trade Apprentice – Secretarial Assistant: 3-year B.A./B.Sc/B.Com.
Trade Apprentice – Accountant: 3-year B.Com.
Trade Apprentice – Data Entry Operator (Fresher): Class XII pass.
Trade Apprentice – Data Entry Operator (Skill Certificate Holder): Class XII pass with Skill Certificate in ‘Domestic Data Entry Operator’.
