Notably, for the 2026 session, admission will be strictly based on HSLC (Class 10) marks; there will be no Polytechnic Admission Test (PAT).

Eligibility Criteria for Assam Polytechnic Admission
To secure a seat in one of the 21 prestigious diploma programmes, candidates must meet the following requirements:
1. Residency & Citizenship
- Candidate must be an Indian Citizen.
- Must be a Permanent Resident of Assam. A valid Permanent Resident Certificate (PRC) is mandatory at the time of counseling.
