Assam VFA Admission 2025
The Directorate of Animal Husbandry & Veterinary Department, Assam, 2025 has released an official notification on 12th June 2025 regarding admission into the One-year VFA Training Course in Elementary Knowledge of A.H. & Veterinary Science for the Session 2024-2025. This training will be conducted at the School of Veterinary Science & A.H. at Ghungoor, Silchar, Assam, and its extended campuses. A total of 200 seats are available, and interested and eligible candidates who are permanent residents of Assam may submit their online applications for the Personnel Assessment Test (PAT) for admission into this course. The last date to apply online for Assam VFA Training Course Admission 2025 is 13th July 2025.

Eligibility Criteria of Assam VFA Admission
Resident-ship: Candidates must be permanent residents of State of Assam and required to upload scan copy of Permanent Resident Certificate (PRC) along with the Online Application.
Age Limit: A candidate should not be less than 18 years and should not be more than 30 years of age as on 1st January 2025.
Age Relaxation: Upper age limit is relaxable as under:
- OBC/MOBC: 03 (three) years
- SC, ST (P) & ST (H): 05 (five) years
Educational Qualification: Candidates must have passed HSSLC (Higher Secondary School Leaving Certificate) in the Science stream, with Biology as a compulsory subject, from a recognized University/Board.
Application Fee: There will be no application fee for all the categories of candidates.

Documents to be uploaded:
➢ Applicants have to upload scanned copies of following documents as applicable.
- For age proof, HSLC Certificate or Admit Card issued by recognized Board/Council.
- The PRC (Permanent Resident Certificate) issued for Educational Purpose or Receipt of Application for PRC before the Deputy Commissioner’s Office.
- HSLC (or equivalent) Marksheet.
- HSSLC (Sc.) Marksheet.
- Recent Passport Size Photograph.
- Scanned Copy of Signature of the Candidate.
- Caste Certificate/EWS Certificate (For the Financial year 2024-25) from competent authority if applying for such category.
- DDO’s Certificate in case of serving Grade-IV employees of the Department.
VFA Admission Selection Procedure
The selection of candidates for admission into the one-year VFA Training Course follows a specific procedure approved by the Government of Assam:
1. Personnel Assessment Test (PAT) and Weightage: After a thorough scrutiny of all applications, eligible candidates are called for a Personnel Assessment Test (PAT) of 100 marks. The final score is calculated based on the following weightage:
- Percentage of marks in HSSLC Science stream with Biology: 40% weightage
- Percentage of marks in HSLC: 20% weightage
- Personnel Assessment Test (PAT) itself: 40% weightage
2. PAT Examination Details: The PAT questions will cover Biology, Physics, Chemistry, and General Awareness of state & national importance. The Selection Board, consisting of 2-3 members, will ask five questions per candidate on a rotational basis. Each question carries 4 marks.
3. Final Merit List: A final merit list is prepared based on the total marks obtained from the combined (a+b+c) components, subject to the observance of the prevailing reservation policy.
