RRB Station Master Recruitment 2026: The Railway Recruitment Board (RRB) has released Centralized Employment Notice CEN 08/2026 for the recruitment of 1,265 Station Master vacancies across various Zonal Railways and Production Units. RRB Station Master Recruitment 2026 – Overview
The Railway Recruitment Board (RRB) has released the employment notification CEN 08/2026 for the recruitment of 1,265 Station Master posts in various Zonal Railways and Production Units of Indian Railways. Eligible graduates can apply online from 27 October 2026 to 25 November 2026.
Selected candidates will be placed in Level 6 of the 7th CPC pay matrix. Selection is through a single-stage Computer Based Test (CBT), a Computer Based Aptitude Test (CBAT), document verification and a medical examination. The final merit list gives 70% weightage to the CBT and 30% to the CBAT.

Computer Based Aptitude Test (CBAT) & Final Merit
•Candidates are shortlisted for the CBAT based on CBT performance. Each RRB selects candidates up to 8 times the number of vacancies in each category – UR, OBC-NCL, SC, ST and EWS, including Ex-Servicemen (ExSM).
•Candidates must qualify in every test battery of the CBAT. There is no negative marking in this test.
•A minimum T-score of 42 in each test battery is required, regardless of community or category.
•The final merit list is prepared from CBAT-qualified candidates with 70% weightage to CBT marks and 30% weightage to CBAT marks.
Document Verification (DV)
•Based on merit position and railway preferences, candidates equal to the number of vacancies are called for Document Verification.
•Tie-break rule: if marks are equal, the older candidate gets preference. If age is also the same, the alphabetical order (A to Z) of the given name (excluding surname) decides the merit position.
•Candidates must produce their original certificates during Document Verification.
RRB Station Master Syllabus 2026 – CBT
The questions are objective type with multiple choices and are likely to cover the following topics:
1. Basic Science, Mathematical & Analytical Capability (60 Marks)
Basic Science & Mathematics (30 Marks): Number System, Ratio & Proportions, Averages, Percentages, Profit, Loss & Discounts, Time, Speed, Distance, Power & Work, Algebra, Linear Equations, Arithmetic Progression, LCM, HCF, Geometry and Trigonometry, Area & Volumes, Probability and Statistics (both basic level). Units, Measurements, Mass, Weight and Density, Work, Power, Energy, Kinetic Energy, Friction, Speed, Velocity, Relative Velocity, Heat and Temperature, Basic Electricity, Levers and Simple Machines.
Data Analysis & Interpretation (30 Marks): Multi-source data analysis – examination, analysis and inference drawing from text, tabular data and graphical data (charts, graphs, scatter plot, pie chart, statistical curve distribution, Venn Diagrams), Data Sufficiency, Data Arrangement.
2. Logical Capability (20 Marks)
Logical Reasoning: Binary Logic, Syllogism, Clocks & Calendars, Assumptions, Blood Relations, Family Tree, solving logic-based puzzles.
Reading Comprehension: Passages in English on subjects such as History, Society, Literature, Science, Environment, Abstract, Mythology, Technology and Culture. Candidates must understand and answer questions on the main idea, supporting idea, application, logical structure and style of the paragraph.
3. Mental Reasoning (20 Marks)
Analogy (identifying the relationship between two items and applying it to another pair), Series Completion (identifying the pattern in a sequence of numbers and predicting the next term), Coding-Decoding, and Ranking & Arrangement based problems.
💡 Preparation Tip: 60 of 100 marks come from Basic Science, Mathematics & Analytical Capability, so give it the most time. With 1/3 negative marking, avoid blind guesses. Also practise aptitude-style tests early, since you need a T-score of 42 in every CBAT battery.
